The R-Word has need of some volunteers
— Proofreading and editing, mainly.
The first thing I must say is that we’re not necessarily looking for folks who have an enormous amount of time they want to give to volunteering. Anyone who can volunteer for an hour or two a week (or so) will be most welcome to assist! Those who have even more time to offer are, of course very welcome!
What we will be needing are those who can assist with proofreading and editing. Several people giving just a little of their time would be most welcome!
Proofreaders look for errors in five main categories: grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and formatting. They also ensure proper word choices and check for repeated or omitted words. Finally, proofreaders make sure writing adheres to the guidelines in the appropriate style guide. ( - from - What Do Proofreaders Look For?
Editing assistance will be largely in helping our writers (when welcomed by them) with expressing their thought and ideas with clarity, skillfulness, excellence and readability. A co-editor of the publication would also be welcome, one who could help invite and select articles, essays, etc.
The R-Word is an all volunteer community service project serving the emerging ecoculture (ecologically wise culture). The gift of your time and skills is a gift to the whole world. Thank you.
